Would you like to share the wonders of space with younger Girl Scouts?
Apply to join members of the Reaching for the Stars: NASA Science for Girl Scouts (aka Girl Scout Stars) team for a free weekend symposium on the new space science badges for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts. Learn about the new badges, explore best practices for sharing science with girls, and take a closer look at the night sky. Leave with a plan to share at the NC Statewide Star Party and a Girl Scout program/event.
Participants commit to attending the Space Science Badge Symposium, plus with the support of Council staff and adult volunteers:
(1) Host an activity as part of a NC Statewide Star Party event on April 12 or 13, 2019.
(2) Present a space science program/activity for K-5 Girl Scouts by the end of 2019.
Free participation includes meals during the symposium and Saturday planetarium overnight. In order to participate, you will be responsible for your transportation logistics and cost and meeting the girl/adult ratio. Adult supervision will be provided at the symposium to meet the girl/adult ratio.
