Girl Scouts in Action

Hey G.I.R.L. Champions,

We are so excited to announce the launch of Girl Scouts’ first-ever official Facebook group, Girl Scouts in Action. The group is open to all registered Girl Scouts and is a way to share stories nationally about how girls in our Council are making the world a better place!

Please note that by posting in the group, you are giving Girl Scouts of the USA permission to share the content to social media. Before you post in the group, please make sure all girls in the photo(s) have documented photo permission with the Council.

To join and start sharing on Facebook, simply click here.

Interested in doing STEM programs with your troop and earning badges for free in the process?

Girl Scouts of the USA is looking for troops at each Girl Scout level to participate in a research study on troop use of Girl Scout STEM program. We are seeking troops who are willing to engage their girls in local and/or national STEM program during this membership year.

What’s Involved
  • Throughout the study timeframe, October 1, 2019, to July 31, 2020, troops will go about their regular troop-selected activities.
  • By December 1, 2019, leaders and girls will complete a pre-survey.
  • Troop leaders will report their troop’s program activities monthly through a short online tracking survey.
  • At the end of your troop year, troop leaders will complete a leader post-survey and administer a girl post-survey to all girls in their troop. All surveys will be available online and in paper format.
  • All surveys must be submitted to GSUSA by August 15, 2020.

Next GSCCC Council Trip? Iceland!

The next GSCCC Council trip has been selected. We are off to Iceland!

Experience stunning fjords and breathtaking waterfalls, then travel to a red mountain where mud boils and steam flows out of the earth. Journey through the Dimmuborgir lava formations, which some believe are trolls exposed to the sun, then walk along the gap separating two tectonic plates. This adventurous trip is not for the faint-of-heart or weak-of-limb; it will keep you moving, climbing, and hiking—and constantly questioning how your surroundings can possibly be real.
