VA811.com Patch Program Contest Winners

On April 9, 2020, Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast hosted its very first virtual event in partnership with VA811.com. Girl Scouts learned about caring before digging. Girls met Nikki Turpin,

Nikki also taught Girl Scouts how to simply recognize signs on the ground highlighted in many different colors and to dig or not to dig. Learn more about VA811 patch program by completing the steps in the Explore VA811.com patch.

Girl Scouts who completed the Explore patch and followed the contest rules won an awesome goodie bag from VA811.com and the winners are...

Older Girl Scouts (ages 14-17) are invited to an interest meeting on November 24, 2019, at 2 p.m. at A Place for Girls to learn about joining our Girl Advisory Board or new STEM Club.

Our Girl Advisory Board (GAB) works with the Council Program team to plan two events each year, assist with Council events and provide feedback/input on future Council programs. GAB offers girls opportunities to take on a leadership role, learn new skills and make new friends.

Our new STEM Club is being created to showcase STEM activities for service units, host tables at community partner events and participate in several Council-sponsored activities. The STEM club will focus on learning how to work with younger girls utilizing Bee Bots, Dash robots, cubelets and snap circuits. Meet girls with similar interests and grow your skills.
