Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)

In mid-July, upgrades to the Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) included more choices for girls! The requirements for the new Journeys and badges are available on the VTK. As you begin planning your year with the girls, share the new program materials with your girls to give them more options! The following is a list of the new program materials:
  • Brand new STEM and Outdoor Journeys for Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and multi-level troops.
    • Think Like an Engineer Journey
    • Think Like a Programmer Journey
    • Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey
    • Outdoors Journey for all levels and multi-level
    • Civic Engagement Badge for Girl Scout Daisies
    • Engineering Badge for Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies
    • Robotics for Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies and Juniors
    • Troop Camping Badge for all levels and multi-level
Girls will still need to complete ANY three Journeys for their program level to earn the Journey Summit Award. The Journey prerequisites for earning Highest Awards (Girl Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold) by Girl Scout level have also remained the same. They are as follows:
  • Girl Scout Bronze Award: One Junior Journey
  • Girl Scout Silver Award: One Cadette Journey
  • Girl Scout Gold Award: Two Senior or Ambassador Journeys or one Senior or Ambassador Journey if they earned their Silver Award.
Reminders:
  • All 2016-2017 Year Plans are now archived under "See Past Years" at the top of the Year Plan Tab. Plans created prior to July 3 for 2017-2018 year are now found in "See Past Years".
  • Brand new leaders registered for the 2017-2018 membership year and are listed as the direct primary for an active troop will have access to the VTK now.
  • Leaders and co-leaders need to have an active 2017-2018 membership to access the VTK. They must also be renewed in their volunteer/direct primary role, and that role be associated to the troop.
