Powder Puff Derby Workshop

Cost: $5 for workshop, $7 for derby car kit.

You will find everything you need to build and decorate your derby car at this hands-on workshop. All tools and instructions will be provided to assist girls with their car building needs. Purchase your derby car kit at the workshop or contact Laurie Surface at sunfirefish@gmail.com.

Registration for workshop is not required; just show up to work on your car design!


Powder Puff Derby 2017

Cost: $7 per girl (includes car kit, certificate and patch)
$4 per girl for certificate and patch (no care kit included)

Bring your creativity and competitive spirit to the 2017 Powder Puff Derby. Girls will get the chance to show off their design and engineering skills as they race derby cars they build themselves. Races are by grade level with two open classes for any family or friends wishing to ace. Trophies are awarded in each class for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and best design.

Calling all future engineers!  How can you keep a marble rolling for two minutes? How can you build an environmentally friendly, sustainable chair?  Learn and use the engineering design process to design, create and build solutions to all kinds of problems.  Girls will leave with their creations and receive the Technology patch. Code Studio
Second and Fourth Saturday of every month

Learn a new language and gain the superpower of computer programming.  Write code to solve problems and create digital art, stories and games.  Girls will get to practice pair programming, learn about computational thinking, and share their very own games.  Each girl will receive the Coding patch.  See more information at TidewaterCommunityAcademy.com.
