Girl Scout ROV Team is Looking for New Members

2016 Girl Scout ROV Team
and "Gerard," their ROV
We are looking for SIX very dedicated, very interested Girl Scout Seniors and/or Ambassadors to form a remote operated vehicle (ROV) team. The Girl Scout ROV team that competed last year in the Mid-Atlantic Regional ROV Competition hosted by the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center and Nauticus is moving up to the next level of competition.

Our goal this year is to have two teams - our new members would form a beginner level team and participate in the 2017 competition to be held on April 22, 2017 at Old Dominion University. As a team you will create, design and build an underwater ROV. Meetings take place at A Place for Girls, normally on a Saturday or Sunday for approximately two hours. These meetings will start in January and continue until the competition date. Becoming a member of the ROV team is a commitment for both the girls and their caregivers. To join or to obtain additional information, contact Donna at donnaf@gsccc.org or 757-410-1406.
