The Model NATO Challenge is a one-of-a-kind scholarship program for high school juniors and seniors in Hampton Roads. Applications are reviewed and the finalists are chosen to be student diplomats representing one of the 28 NATO Member Countries in a mock global crisis simulation.
Acting as members of NATO's North Atlantic Council, the student diplomats face a real-world crisis and must work together to reach consensus. Partnering with NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, each diplomat is assigned a mentor (military officer) from their assigned country to learn about cultural, political and military philosophies.
