Volunteers Needed for NASA Event

Hampton Roads Mini Maker Faire
Playground Cardboard Space Scape Section
May 6, 2017
7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Hampton Roads Convention Center
Grades: 6 to 12 and adult leaders

Help NASA Langley Research Center colonize Mars. Kids and families attending the event will be constructing the colony. We are seeking volunteers to help organize the recycled materials that will be used and engage with the attendees. We would also like the volunteers to help start the Mars colony by building an example of what the cardboard buildings will look like.

This is an opportunity to be creative! Each building should be big enough for people to crawl through and sturdy enough so it won’t fall over easily. Troops might consider getting together and work on an example piece. Troops can color on it with crayons and use tape to keep the structure together. Volunteer shifts will be arranged so that volunteers will have the chance to check out the rest of the event.

Register online to volunteer. If volunteering as a troop, the troop leader fills out one form and lists the number of girls helping in the notes section.
