Updated: Safety Activity Checkpoints

Safety Activity Checkpoints (SAC) is a resource that provides safety standards and guidelines for Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA)-approved activities. While the basic guidelines for working with girls can be found in Volunteer Essentials, the Safety Activity Checkpoints contains guidelines for specific activities- including archery, hiking and selling Girl Scout Cookies.

Safety Activity Checkpoints has been updated for 2020.

The Blue Book of Basic Documents contains important information and source documents, including the Constitution of Girl Scouts of the United States of America, bylaws, policies, credentials criteria and standards for councils, our Congressional Charter, and more.

Girl Scout Bronze Award Training Webinar

VA811.com Patch Program Contest Winners

On April 9, 2020, Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast hosted its very first virtual event in partnership with VA811.com. Girl Scouts learned about caring before digging. Girls met Nikki Turpin,
Regional Public Awareness & Training Coordinator for Hampton Roads. Nikki loved sharing all the information needed before girls go outside and start a garden and build a treehouse. Nikki also taught Girl Scouts how to simply recognize signs on the ground highlighted in many different colors and to dig or not to dig. Scholarship Program

This month’s featured scholarship program is… eGirl Power!

Gold Award Girl Scouts who are interested in pursuing a STEM or cybersecurity degree can apply for the eGirl Power Gold Award Scholarship of up to $1,000 towards their education.

Girl Scout Cadettes and Juniors pursuing their Girl Scout Silver and Bronze Awards and working on their projects can apply for the eGirl Power Silver Award Scholarship and the eGirl Power Bronze Award Scholarship (up to $500)! Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. 

eGirl Power is an IRS-approved 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to educate and support girls through leadership skills development and career exploration with a focus on STEM and cybersecurity. 

eGirl Power is offering this opportunity to support Girl Scouts developing leadership skills to make a difference in the world. 

Girls can complete eGirl Power’s interest form to receive more information about their scholarships, as well as opportunities to participate in their Distance Learning program to qualify for other prizes and awards. 

We encourage Gold Award Girl Scouts to visit our scholarship database for more opportunities.

Now Accepting Applications for She Believes She Can, So She Does Scholarship

The She Believes She Can, So She Does Scholarship was created for Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast to provide support to current Girl Scout Ambassadors pursuing higher education opportunities to include vocational training and undergraduate education. This scholarship will provide more opportunities for girls looking to further their skills and education all while fueling the leadership and workforce pipeline.

If you know any girls who could benefit from this scholarship, encourage them to complete the application by August 3, 2020.
