Girl Scout Alert: Tell Lawmakers to Prioritize Civics Education!

We need your helpplease ask your Member of Congress to support the Civics Learning Act (H.R. 849), a bipartisan bill that would increase the federal investment in civics education and provide more students with meaningful, hands-on civics learning and community service opportunities from organizations like Girl Scouts!

TAKE ACTION

Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) Important Information

The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) will be unavailable for 24 hours starting the evening of Monday, July 1, to accommodate the annual archiving process. What this means is that any year plans created in the "Year Plan" tab will be moved to "Past Years." You will be able to access prior year plans by clicking on "Past Years" and then selecting the year you want to view. Do not set up your year plan for the upcoming membership year, yet. Wait until after July 1st!

Also, if you are not yet registered for the 2020 membership year, you will not have access to the VTK after July 1. Renew today!

The system will be functional on July 2, however, from July 1 to July 16, the "Explore," Year Plan" and "Meeting Plan" tabs will not be available. During that time, new badge and Journey content will be added to the VTK.

NEW! On July 25, new users (service unit/administrative volunteers and individually registered members) will gain access to the VTK.

Early Renewal is Ending Soon - Don't Miss Out!

If you haven't already renewed your troop, now is the time! In addition to ensuring that your girls are on the path for a successful year of adventure, learning, and leadership skill building, you also still have the chance to win one of our incentives.

All troops who renew 90% of their girls plus two adults by midnight on June 15th will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $250 gift card to Great Wolf Lodge OR a $250 gift card to Build-A-Bear. Two troops will win!

We also added an additional incentive for service units. We're giving away an encampment...actually, two of them! For every 25 girls renewed between June 1st and June 15th, your service unit will receive one entry into the drawing for a free encampment. As an added bonus, for every 25 NEW girls added to your service unit during the same time period, the service unit will receive 5 additional entries into the drawing.

New friends, old friends, free encampment-sounds like the perfect recipe for a great Girl Scout year!

Next GSCCC Council Trip? Iceland!

The next GSCCC Council trip has been selected. We are off to Iceland!

Experience stunning fjords and breathtaking waterfalls, then travel to a red mountain where mud boils and steam flows out of the earth. Journey through the Dimmuborgir lava formations, which some believe are trolls exposed to the sun, then walk along the gap separating two tectonic plates. This adventurous trip is not for the faint-of-heart or weak-of-limb; it will keep you moving, climbing, and hiking—and constantly questioning how your surroundings can possibly be real.
