Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)

What is the Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)?
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you already know that your girls love Girl Scouts for the friends, the fun, and all the new things they get to try. Now, there is a way to run your troop or group that saves you time and helps you plan so that you can spend more time with the girls. Meet the Volunteer Toolkit (VTK), the web app that makes it easy for Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie and Junior troop leaders to get the most out of every troop or group meeting.

And here’s the best part—with the VTK, you can say goodbye to digging through big stacks of books and piles of resources. It is accessible from your home computer, tablet or mobile device—placing everything you need in one easy-to-access place that’s accessible on the go.

North Carolina Legislative Page Opportunity During Girl Scout Week

Do you have an interest in government or current state issues? Are you between the ages of fifteen and eighteen years old (or 14 if already in 9th grade)? Do you want to learn more about how laws are made? If so, consider applying to serve as a House or Senate Page during Girl Scout Week (March 13-16, 2017). You will join Girl Scouts from all over North Carolina to learn how our state government really works and to participate in the legislative process. This program offers youth the opportunity to learn about, and participate in, the legislative process of our state. It is a four-day long experience that allows high school students to observe firsthand how our laws are made.

Model Water Tower Competition

We are seeking Girl Scout teams to compete in the Girl Fest 2017 Water Tower Competition. Teams will be challenged to build a structurally efficient model water tower that holds water and can be filled and drained quickly, while being aesthetically pleasing. The objective is to make participants aware of the importance of reliable drinking water and to learn about opportunities available in the water profession. Judging will be based on four criteria: structural efficiency, hydraulic efficiency, cost efficiency and design ingenuity.
