If you are looking for a career that builds the future leaders of tomorrow, this is the position for you. We are seeking a full-time membership specialist at our Kitty Hawk, NC. location. We are looking for candidates with outgoing personalities who love working with diverse groups of people. This position will find creative ways to retain girl and adult membership by researching market data, membership trends and other pertinent information relevant to the designated areas. Strong communication skills are needed to provide direction, guidance, and ongoing support to our dedicated volunteers who deliver the Girl Scout program in the community.

Outdoor I & II: Combined Course

This course includes all of the content from the Outdoor I and Outdoor II courses in one weekend:

Outdoor I: This course will prepare volunteers to introduce girls to outside adventures. Emphasis is on knowledge of outdoor skills: meal planning and preparation (involving actual cooking/clean-up), use of kaper charts, propane stoves, knot tying, knife safety and protection of the natural world. Allows adult volunteers to take girls camping in a cabin or other walled structure.

Become an Archery Instructor

This course will teach you the basic steps of shooting to prepare you to instruct archery courses for Girl Scout groups.

Norfolk Botanical Garden welcomes Girl Scouts to gather in the gardens and get into nature. Discover how to grow a vegetable garden. Decorate flowerpots and plant herb seeds to take home. Connect with the garden by learning about native plants and animals. Take Action by creating a nature journal, documenting what you see in the garden and recording ways you've learned to help conserve natural resources.

A discounted Girl Scout Lifetime membership is available to girls who have graduated from high school in the spring of 2015 at a cost of $195. Because this is a one-time discount opportunity, the 2015-16 Adult Membership paper form must be used. You may access the adult registration form on our website here. Print and mail your completed form along with your payment to GSCCC, 912 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. The final date for ensuring that payment can be processed and sent to GSUSA is September 15, 2015.  All graduating Girl Scout Ambassador Lifetime registration forms are to be received by GSCCC no later than 4 p.m. on September 15, 2015.

Community Girl Awards Committee and Council Gold Award Committee Members Needed

Are you interested in mentoring and supporting girls as they pursue the highest awards in Girl Scouting? The Community Girl Awards Committee might just be a perfect fit for you. The committees meet monthly to work with girls as they prepare for the Girl Scout Silver and Girl Scout Gold Awards. The committees also provide guidance and support to the trusted adults working with girls on Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.

The Council Gold Award Committee meets monthly to review Girl Scout Gold Award proposals and final Girl Scout Gold Award projects.
