Scholarship Opportunity - The Riley's Way Foundation Call for Kindness

Teens across the country can enter to win up to $3,000 to drive change that inspires kindness and build meaningful connections in their communities. Fifteen teen-led projects will receive this award, along with the opportunity to take part in the Riley's Way Kind Leadership Series. Applications are due March 31st.

This opportunity is perfect for Girl Scouts pursuing the Silver and/or Gold Award and who seek funding. This may also be a good fit for Girl Scouts seeking ongoing financial support to help sustain or build upon their highest award project (of course, it's deal for projects to sustain independently of Girl Scouts). Girls can visit the scholarship database to learn more.

The majority of scholarships and awards, like the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes (apply by March 31st), are most relevant for Gold Award Girl Scouts, so be sure to keep this on your radar!

• Anthem Buddies: Stand next to the Globetrotters during the National Anthem.
• Color Guard: Present the colors during the National Anthem.
• High Five Tunnel: Up to 20 members of your group can "high-five" the Globetrotters as they take the court after half time.
• Bench Kids: Sit on the bench during warm-ups.
• Pre-Game Court Time: Your group(s) can perform or play on the court live in front of the audience before the game.
• Group Photo: Recognize your group in front of the crowd with a special announcement or picture on the court at half time.
• YMCA on the Court: Up to 20 members of your group will perform the YMCA song with the players on the court.

The Virginia Opera Guild of Norfolk, VA has its Merchant of Venice Rummage Sale on April 4th and needs Girl Scout volunteers for three shifts:

• 9-11 a.m.
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
• 1-3 p.m.

Breakfast, snack and lunch will be provided for volunteers during their shift. Girl Scouts will help and greet guests and help them get their items for check out and helping with clean-up.

Enjoy learning about space and exploring the stars at this badge event for the Space Science Investigator badge lead by Hampton Roads Academy students! We will be diving deeper into the Earth's relationship to the other planets and discovering how our atmosphere works. Girls can expect a comprehensive and exciting approach to collaborative learning while boosting confidence and teambuilding skills.
