Want to keep 40,000 plastic bags out of the Atlantic?

Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast is partnering with Trex to recycle 500 pounds of plastic bags (over 40,000 bags) from now until Earth Day on April 22, 2020. With your help, we will keep plastic bags out of landfills and the ocean.

We are encouraging EVERYONE to get into the habit of recycling plastic bags! Here is a way you can participate right in your own home with these 4 easy steps!
  1. Collect your plastic bags (don't forget bread bags, grocery bags, poly mailers and more can be recycled!).
  2. Weigh your bags (using a luggage scale or even a food scale in your kitchen).
  3. Report the weight of the bags you are dropping off to philanthropy@gsccc.org.
  4. Drop your bags off at any Food Lion location.
It's THAT SIMPLE!
If we hit our goal of 500 pounds of plastic bags by Earth Day, Trex will donate an outdoor bench made of recycled bags to GSCCC!
You can change the future, one bag at a time!
