Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) - What's New?

Beginning Tuesday, July 16th, the 2020 Year Plan was open for customization by leaders who are registered for 2020 membership year. If you are not registered for 2020 membership, you will need to register to gain access to the VTK.

What's new in the VTK?
  • The primary contact/caregiver of an individually registered girl will now have access to the VTK. The primary contact/caregiver does not need to be a registered member of Girl Scouts to get access to the VTK, only the girl needs to be a member. This access will be through their member community login. Girls who are 13 years of age or older may use their caregiver's login to manage the VTK.
  • All Girl Scout Cadette badges are now on the VTK.
  • The three class Journeys for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are available in the six-session format. The Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie and Junior Journeys are now in the six-session format. This is a total of 287 plans for troop meetings on the VTK for volunteers to guide girls through the content.

New program content for the 2019-2020 membership year include more badges for ALL levels:
  • 12 Outdoor High Adventure badges, funded by The North Face. These badges feature, for the first time in Girl Scouts' history, two distinct activity options, letting girls choose how they want to earn each badge.
  • 18 Coding for Good badges, funded by AT&T and Dell Technologies.

In addition, girls in grades 6-12 can now pursue:
  • 9 Cybersecurity badges, funded by Palo Alto Networks.
  • 3 Space Science badges, funded by NASA's Science Mission Directorate and led by the SETI Institute.
  • Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey for grades 6-12, funded by Johnson & Johnson and The Coca-Cola Foundation.

You can see the new program content for your grade level as well as everything else that has already been in the VTK. All of this is right at your fingertips!
