Earn a Performers Patch

Tuesday, October 8 – Sunday, October 13, 2019
The Zeiders Proteus Festival!
Open to girls in grades 9-12.
Cost: FREE (option to purchase patch at the Zeiders Theatre after completing the festival).

  • The Proteus Festival is a celebration of creativity & community with performances, panel discussions and community participation.
  • At the heart of Proteus Festival are the creative teams working to create new artistic pieces in three disciplines: music, film and theater. Teams will create their pieces over the festival weekend with mentorship from professionals in the field. On the closing day of the festival, all of the creative teams will present their new works to the public, and a panel of judges will award a “best of” prize in each category and an overall “Best of Proteus Festival” prize to the work deemed to best embody the creative spirit of the festival.
  • The Z is looking for teams of up to six people (high school age and up, at the beginning of their artistic journeys) who have interests in creating and performing in those three disciplines. If you cannot create a team you will be added to a team upon signup.
  • Teams commit to be at Proteus 10/10-10/13 from 6-9 p.m. and participate in all work sessions, follow the guidelines for the project, and present the completed piece at the Sunday performance for their discipline. Creative Team commitments begin after school hours.
  • When teams are not creating, they have access to the performances & panel discussions at Proteus.
