Climbing Wall Lock-In Peak Experience

Ages: 11 and older are invited (no tagalongs)
$40 per climber (girl or adult)
$5 chaperone (limited spaces)
Drop-off: Saturday, 8:45 p.m. in the lobby.
Pick-up: Sunday, 6 a.m. in the lobby.
Registration deadline: January 30, 2018

Climb all night at Peak Experience, one of the largest climbing centers on the East Coast! Registered Girl Scout adults are also encouraged to sign up to climb and help belay. Participants age 13 or over will separate into groups for the "Learn the Ropes" belay class. This two-hour instructional session will teach participants how to belay and will cover climbing basics.

April is prime migration season and we are bound to see many species of birds during this event.  Bring a bag lunch, binoculars and dress for the weather. Parents are invited to stay. There may be a park entry fee; carpooling is encouraged.

This is a hammock ONLY camping trip – no tents. Girls must provide their own hammocks. We will talk about safe hanging practices and show you a few tips and tricks. There will be campfire cooking using different outdoor methods. This is a girl event with limited adult spaces.

Immerse yourself in nature...crisp spring air, mountain views and a walk on the famous Appalachian Trail. Learn true self-reliance as you travel like a turtle, carrying everything you need on your back.  Girls will set-up their own wilderness campsite. First time backpackers receive pre-trip training and support. Girls are to come prepared with sturdy hiking boots and backpack. Limited number of packs available for loan.

Bike Trip Along the C & O Canal

Bring your own mountain-type bike. We will bike and camp along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park (a.k.a. C&O Canal Towpath) which follows the route of the Potomac River between Georgetown in Washington, D.C. and Cumberland, Maryland. For its first few miles, the pathway also parallels the paved Capital Crescent Trail, which forms an arc around D.C.'s western and northern boundaries.

Float/Camping Trip

$50 (includes transportation, camping, food and inter-tube rental)
Come spend the weekend camping with us and we’ll float several miles down a river on a float.
