Upcoming Girl Scout Events

Science Alive (new activities this year!)
Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA
B/J/C/S/A
This is a girl and adult event.  Both must pay to attend.  No tagalongs.
September 16, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (check in 8:30 a.m.)
$16 per girl (includes box lunch and event patch)/$13 for adults (includes box lunch)

Join us for our 8th annual Science Alive at NSU! Enjoy hands-on STEM activities such as engineering, chemistry, medicine, biology and physical science led by NSU faculty and students. Spend time on a college campus and meet sorority sisters.  Lunch is included for registered participants.  A special adult session is offered from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. focusing on tutoring and college readiness.  Adults must register to attend this session.
Event includes activities related to the It’s Your Planet: Investigation badge.

RIVERfest

FREE family event
Celebrate RIVERfest with exhibitors and vendors displaying, demonstrating, and sharing all the wonderful things Hampton Roads has to offer. Learn what you can do to support the environment through the Elizabeth River Project.  Event patch is available for purchase at the GSCCC shop. Open event, no registration required.

Neptune Festival Parade
Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA
All Grades
This is a girl only event.  No tagalongs. One adult per troop will be allowed to register and walk in parade.  Both must pay to attend.
September 30, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (check in 11 a.m.)
$3 (includes event patch)
The Grand Parade, a long time favorite part of the annual Neptune Festival, follows a 16-block route (16th to 32nd) of Atlantic Avenue on the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Join the Girl Scout walking unit representing your service unit and the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast. Details and practice dates will be provided once your registration is received.                                                 
Event includes activities related to the Legacy: Citizen badge.

Synthetic Engineering
The College of William & Mary, Williamsurg, VA
C/S/A
This is a girl only event.  No tagalongs.  One Girl Scout registered adult may be asked to stay to meet ratios but does not pay.
October 7, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
$10 (includes event patch)
What is SynBio and bioengineering? This event will put the science into everyday life. Ever heard of molecular biology? Understanding how scientists are able to work with DNA in the lab will help you explain SynBio. Participating in hands-on activities in a science lab with bioengineers will help you think like a scientist!
