Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Competitive Programs & Scholarships are Open to Girl Scouts

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Competitive Programs & Scholarships
VFW offers a variety of scholarships for middle and high school students such as Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, Teacher’s Awards and Scout of the Year. There are national and local awards, so you’ll need to submit your entries to your local Post as a starting point. To find the VFW Post in your area, search here. Patriotic Art Contest
Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. National prizes include $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second place, $2,500 for third place, and there are also other prizes including recognition from the local VFW Post in Virginia.
