Grow Your Troop - Deadline to Win is January 15!


Everyone knows that Girl Scouts is all about making new friends... and keeping the old! And this the perfect time to round out your troop with some new faces.

For every girl you add to your troop between now and January 15, 2018, your troop will be entered into drawings to win fantastic prizes. The more you add, the better your odds of winning!

GSCCC Closing

Due to weather conditions, Council offices and shops will be closed on Monday, January 8.

Girl Leaders in School or Community

Do you know a Girl Scout who is part of her school’s student body government? If so, we need to hear from them! GSUSA is identifying girls who have taken this leadership step and would like their stories. If you know a girl who is a leader in her school – or on a city youth committee – please email customercare@gsccc.org – attention Public Relations Manager, with the girl’s name and phone number.

Climbing Wall Lock-In Peak Experience
Peak Experience
Midlothian, VA
Saturday, February 10 - Sunday, February 11, 2018
Ages: 11 and older are invited (no tagalongs)
$40 per climber (girl or adult)
$5 chaperone (limited spaces)
Drop-off: Saturday, 8:45 p.m. in the lobby.
Pick-up: Sunday, 6 a.m. in the lobby.
Registration deadline: January 30, 2018
Minimum: 40
Maximum: 80
Climb all night at Peak Experience, one of the largest climbing centers on the East Coast! Registered Girl Scout adults are also encouraged to sign up to climb and help belay. Participants age 13 or over will separate into groups for the "Learn the Ropes" belay class. This two-hour instructional session will teach participants how to belay and will cover climbing basics.

Graduating Ambassadors Eligible for Leadership Program & Scholarship - Applicatons due Jan 31

Annually, top female high school seniors from around the country are selected to participate in the KPMG Future Leaders Program and receive a scholarship of $10,000 per year through four years of college. Selected students attend a three-day retreat at Stanford University the summer before their freshman year of college and take part in a yearlong mentoring program, paired with a female leader participating in the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit. 

Learn more about the program and share the application, which is due to the Office of Condoleezza Rice by January 31.

Girl Scout High Adventures: Cracks, Crevices and Crawlways

9:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Camp Skimino – Enmeier Center
Williamsburg, VA
$8 per girl with patch / $6 per girl without patch

This event is open to all Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors (2nd Grade – 12th Grade girls). Parents/Chaperones are required to stay with the girls and are welcome to sign up and participate! All activities are indoors. Girls will be participating in caving type activities that will require crawling, climbing and scooting on the floor. Participants must wear long pants and tennis shoes.

Registration is open for Girl Scout Cadette First Aid and Eating for Beauty workshops.  Sign up for one or both.  Workshop fee includes badge and all supplies.  Sign up for one or both workshops. Purchase an optional box lunch or bring your own if you are attending both workshops and staying all day.  Open to Girl Scout Cadettes only. Only 60 spots available.
